Departure Day

Arrival day is all about settling in and getting ready for the adventure ahead. Riders gather, get settled into their accommodations and meet the guides. The day wraps up with a casual dinner, where the group can mingle and discuss the upcoming days.

The exploration of Rab begins with a gentle ride away from the city, heading into the island’s natural beauty. Along the way, we follow a scenic trail offering stunning views of the town of Lopar, famous for its sandy beaches and seaside charm. After leaving our tracks in the sand, we continue to the other side of the island to explore the protected Dundo Park, known for its dense forest of holm oak. The ride concludes with a refreshing drink in the historic old town center.

The second morning on the island of Rab is also our last. After packing up, we board the ferry and begin our journey toward the island of Krk. As we take in the beauty of the Adriatic along the way, anticipation builds for the next ride. Once we land, a short transfer brings us to the starting point of the day’s ride—a relaxed exploration of Krk’s scenic trails, forest paths, and natural landscapes. After the ride, it’s just a short trip to the hotel, where the day winds down.

Today’s journey leads us to the iconic Moon Plateau on the island of Krk, named for its unique, rocky terrain that mirrors the surface of the moon. We start off easy, riding at a relaxed pace toward Baška, the island’s southernmost town. After a short break by the sea, the climb begins—following a scenic trail with panoramic views of Baška and the nearby islands. At the top, we reach the plateau and take time to explore its vast, lunar-like landscape. The ride wraps up in Krk’s wine region, where a local drink awaits to cap off the day.

The day begins with a journey from the islands to the Istrian peninsula—often called the “half-island” for its unique shape. On our way inland, we stop in the northern region near the town of Buzet to explore the surrounding villages, where traces of traditional life, scenic views, and natural beauty still thrive. A highlight of the day is a visit to Hum, officially known as the smallest town in the world, and famous for its locally crafted rakija. The day comes to a close with a relaxed transfer to the hotel.

Central Istria is a place where life slows down and nature takes center stage. Its rolling hills are covered with vineyards, olive groves, and quiet trails perfect for exploration. While much of the ride follows the historic Parenzana Trail, we’ll also take time to wander off into forest paths and hidden routes. Along the way, we visit charming villages like Grožnjan and Motovun, known for their cobbled streets and timeless character. The day ends with a glass of local wine and panoramic views of the Istrian countryside, before heading back to the hotel for our final night.

On the final day, it’s time to pack up and prepare for the journey home. Afterward, we head to the airport or continue on our way back, reflecting on the experiences of the tour.

                    Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the ideal period to book a tour in Istria?

The ideal period to visit Istria runs from April to October, offering mild weather suited for outdoor fun. May and September are favorites among travelers because of their pleasant temperatures and lower crowd levels. Many tend to avoid July and August because of the heat.

What kind of accommodation and meals can I expect during the tour?

Guests stay in carefully chosen bike-friendly hotels to ensure a comfortable experience. The Mediterranean location means the food is fantastic—so good, in fact, that many guests say they miss the meals more than the trails after the tour ends. Most packages include half board (breakfast and dinner), while lunch is up to you—whether it’s at a local restaurant or a picnic in nature.

Should I bring my own bike, or can I rent one?

While you can bring your own bike, renting is often more convenient. We work with a trusted supplier to select the right bike for you, which will be ready and waiting at the start of the tour. During the trip, the bikes stay with you at the hotel and are available whenever you need them. Please note that the cost of bike rental is an additional fee on top of the starting tour price.

What equipment should I have with me?

Our experienced guides carry all the essential bike repair tools, including allen keys, puncture kits, pumps, and more. They also bring a first aid kit for your safety. If you’re used to bringing your own tools or gear, you’re welcome to bring them along.

Regarding equipment, wearing a helmet is mandatory, and body protection is highly recommended depending on the style of tour you choose. Drinking water is available throughout Istria and is generally safe and easy to access.

How long does a typical cycling day last?

While we offer set tour itineraries, we always customize them to suit the group’s preferences. A typical cycling day lasts between 4 and 6 hours, depending on the route and if a shuttle to the starting point is included. Keep in mind that the shuttle can add some extra time to the overall day. The schedule usually includes regular breaks for rest, meals, and sightseeing, making the pace enjoyable and flexible.

What if I come across a part of the trail I can’t ride?

The difficulty of the route is chosen together with the group and adjusted to match the average riding level. Since Istria is a well-connected region with many roads and trail options, it’s usually possible to avoid challenging sections and replace them with alternative routes, keeping the ride enjoyable for everyone.

How do I get the final price for the tour?

The final price is provided after we customize your tour based on your preferences, group size, and selected options. Once all details are confirmed, we’ll send you a detailed quote outlining the total cost, including accommodation, meals, bike rentals (if needed), and any additional services. This way, you know exactly what’s included before you book. For a quick response, feel free to reach out to us via the contact form on our website.

How do I book a tour?

It’s simple! To book a tour, just contact us through our website or by email. We’ll discuss your preferences and customize the tour to fit your needs. Once everything is confirmed, we’ll guide you through the next steps to secure your booking.

                    Is travel insurance required?

Yes, we highly recommend having travel insurance that covers medical expenses and any potential issues related to cycling activities. While it’s not mandatory to book the tour, having insurance gives you peace of mind in case of unexpected situations during your trip.
